The Slant Ring Box

This little engagement ring box is meant to keep a low profile right before popping the big question. I modelled the design after old school lighters and used a single 10mm Soss barrel hinge connect the lid to the base. Small 1/8" neodymium magnets keep the lid shut when not in use. The box is made of a very nice piece of cocobolo and is roughly 2" x 4" x 0.875".

Exotic woods like cocobolo can be sanded to a glassy smooth finish and are pretty durable. The only finish I applied was a coat of paste wax. All of the edges have chamfers and the back includes a custom engraving per the request of my customer. This design and others are available in the Shop and in my Etsy store. They are made to order.
